Hello: The BLIND CENTER OF NEVADA in Las Vegas is still looking for overstocked items that companies in the Las Vegas, NV area may have. We can provide assistance in selling the items, and can handle as many items that you need to sell. Items need to be of a size that can be handled and shipped with ease.

A few examples of overstocked items that we would help in selling are computers and electronics, along with cell phones and PDA's, cameras, and jewelry, just to name a few. HELP US TO MAINTAIN OUR MISSION GOALS!

Hello: The BLIND CENTER OF NEVADA in Las Vegas is still in need of computer/electronic-related equipment donations for recycling to help maintain our mission goals. The donations provide employment for the blind and visually disabled, and also provides services and programs for the members. The only electronics that we do not accept are televisions.

Monetary donations are always accepted and appreciated. We also accept food donations and eyeglass donations.

RECYCLING MEANS CARING!

Hello: At the Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas, we are accepting all computer-related and general electronics for recycling.

We accept CRT Monitors that are under 19 inches for a fee of $10., and CRT Monitors that are over 19 inches for a fee of $15., due to Federal Regulatory Requirements for disposal of CRT's.

Recycling is necessary to keep all e-waste out of the landfills in Nevada, to help keep our environment clean.

THINK OF THE ENVIRONMENT!

Hello: At the Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas, we offer free recycling of computer/electronic-related equipment. Because of Federal Regulatory Requirements for CRT Monitors, and to ensure responsible recycling, there will be a minimal service charge of $10 for monitors up to 19 inches, and $15 for monitors over 19 inches. Please act responsibly and be part of the solution, not the problem.

We also offer Data Erasure services for your hard drive. It is important to eliminate your personal/business information so it is not retrieved by someone else. A Certificate is mailed to you upon completion of the service.

The Blind Center of NV collects new or used computers, printers, servers, faxes, cell phones and most electronics, except for TV's. All material collected is reused or recycled creating jobs for the blind and visually impaired in Southern Nevada. Items are sorted, graded and organized for disposition or resale. No items are sent to our landfills.

YOUR COMPUTER/ELECTRONIC DONATIONS HELP EVERYONE!

Hello: At the Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas, we are always in need of your donations of computer/electronic equipment for recycling. By recycling, refurbishing and reusing, employment opportunities are created for the blind and visually disabled. Recycling also helps to fund the many services and programs provided to the members.

We also offer the service of Data Erasure to ensure that your personal/business information is taken off the hard drive using Department of Defense standards. When the service has been completed, a Certificate is mailed to you.

THANK YOU eBAY AND PAYPAL!

Hello: On July 14, 2009, Senior Management of the Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas went to San Jose, California to attend a two-day event hosted by eBay and PayPal, along with the eBay Green Team and eBay Foundation.

Day One included Senior Management Teams from the Blind Center of Nevada at the eBay Cafe and the PayPal Campus Cafe showing adaptive technology, screen reader computer technology, and talking about the Computer/Electronic Recycling Event the next day. The Blind Center also met with eBay's Task Team on accessibility and showed the Engineers the adaptive technology that is used by visually impaired employees at the Blind Center.

On Day Two, there were two Computer/Electronic Recycling Events held from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm; one being held at the eBay campus and the other at the PayPal campus. The Blind Center collected over 8,000 pounds of electronic waste, which will be kept out of the Nevada landfills.

The Blind Center Management Team also toured the NOC (Network Operation Center) of eBay, and also PayPal. Management also met with the Vice President of Products and Strategies of eBay to share the Blind Center of Nevada's story as a Power Seller employing blind and visually impaired workers selling on eBay. The 2-day event was a great success!

WE HUMBLY ACCEPT THE 2009 "BEST GREEN NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION" AWARD!

Hello: The Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas was nominated as one of three finalists in the category of "Best Green Nonprofit Organization" for the 2009 Las Vegas Business Press Green Awards!

Many nominations were received from all over the valley and the Editorial Staff selected our organization as a finalist based upon our commitment to supporting the "green" initiative by our Computer/Electronic Recycling efforts to keep E-waste out of the Nevada landfills.
