LET'S GO SHOPPING!

Hello: At the Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas, the members have the opportunity to go shopping each week for food, clothing, and miscellaneous items, assisted by volunteers. For some of the members, this is the only means of transportation to be able to get to a store. Our volunteers assist with locating and purchasing the items, in addition to making sure that the members get to and from the vans safely.

EYEGLASSES NEEDED!

Hello: The Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas accepts donations of new and used eyeglasses, magnifying glasses, frames and cases. We supply these to our members and to the general public who are in need.

These are available Monday through Thursday during the day. Please call the Blind Center of Nevada at (702) 642-6000 for hours of availability.

WE ACCEPT COMPUTERS & RELATED ELECTRONICS FOR RECYCLING!

Hello: At the Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas, we are always accepting computers and related electronics for recycling.

Recycling e-waste not only provides employment for the blind and visually impaired members of the Blind Center, but also keeps the e-waste out of Nevada's landfills.

We also provide data erasure from the hard drives for a fee of $8.00 per hard drive. A certificate is sent when the job has been completed, certifying that the data has been removed.

FOOD DONATIONS NEEDED!

Hello: The Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas serves more than 200 nutritious hot lunches to blind and visually impaired members, who are in need, each week.

For some of the members, the lunch provided is their main meal of the day, as many of the people served live at or below the poverty level and find it very difficult, even close to impossible to pay for and prepare healthy, fresh meals. The lunches are served by volunteers who give their time and energy, always with a friendly smile.

One of our goals is to provide a freshly prepared meal to our blind and visually impaired clients daily at no cost to them. To keep our daily service going, we need your help!

Donations are accepted Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm. For more information on donating and/or volunteering, please call the Blind Center of Nevada at (702) 642-6000.

HELP PRESERVE THE ENVIRONMENT!

Hello: We have to remind everyone the importance of keeping e-waste out of the landfills to help preserve our environment. So, once again, we are letting you know that you can recycle all of your unwanted computer and electronic items for free through the Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas.

Also, data erasure is available for your hard drive so that your personal and/or business information is removed. The fee for this service is $8.00 per hard drive.

FREE COMPUTER CLASSES!

Hello: The Blind Center of Nevada in Las Vegas offers free computer classes to the blind and visually impaired. This helps some of the members get back into the work place and also helps them to keep in touch with their families and friends by e-mail.

The instructors for these classes are all volunteers who donate their time and energy to help the visually impaired at the Center.
